Services Offered
Here are the main services I practice, offering personalised interventions tailored to any situation, private or public, single items and entire collections, for estate, insurance, certification etc.
DOCUMENTATION
Will provide written reports describing and identifying the object; condition assessment, recommend course of action; offering specific types of photography, lab analysis, chemical sampling etc. Inventory listing, cataloguing, filing damage claims, collection management are but a few activities I practice.
TREATMENT APPLICATION
Every artifact has it's own set of issues...will apply specific approaches outlined in the work proposal following traditional methods and products based on professional code of ethics outlined by the Canadian Association for Conservation of Cultural Property and of the Canadian Association of professional Conservators.
NETWORKING
Because artifacts are rarely the result of one specific craft, their care may require the help of other conservators and specialists. For example, payne (old glass) replacement, tooled leather, hardware restorations / replacement, textile expertise, clock makers are just a few examples of other trades involved. Packaging and transportation, exporting and importing formalities are another...In any cases, we have the necessary networking to provide practical solutions to most issues posed.
